I grew up in rural southeastern Guilford county, NC and rapidly acquired a love for the fields and forests surrounding the farms near our house. Boy Scouting had a great part in determining my future, and it has lead me to many peaks and rivers throughout the country. I am still an active leader for a local troop and hope to continue to build young men that have a desire to be outside. My father was a forestry graduate, so it was no mystery that I found myself following the same path after high school. I began by attending Appalachian State University in order to explore the immense countryside that was nearby. Any time not attending classes was spent fly fishing, backpacking, or rock climbing. The Lord eventually brought me to NCSU, where I earned my B.S. in Forest Management with minors in Environmental Science and Ag Business. After graduation, I took a position as a sawyer on a U.S. Forest Service fire crew for one season and have since spent my summers in the western states and Alaska as a fly fishing guide, which I still do locally on a part-time basis. I've been slowly building this business over the past five years in the hopes that landowners will continue to value their properties as productive ecosystems with values far beyond what the books show. My passion for good land stewardship runs deep, much of what I recommend being practiced on family property. I love working with excited landowners who have a genuine desire to manage their land within a sustainable system.
